STIRLING CASTLE, GOLDEN VOICES

“Last things” can provide reflection opportunities. The last day, last tour, last castle, last cathedral, last 10 pound note, last hike up Arthur’s Seat, last song a senior will sing on chapel choir tour… We encourage you to ask your chapel choir members what was their favorite experience this week in Scotland.  Emily has asked each choir member to be prepared to express something most memorable; preparing us well as usual!!

We began the day with a short drive over to Stirling to tour Stirling Castle, The Old Jail, and to sing our last concert at the historic Holy Church of the Rood. Late afternoon we did a ghost walking tour and then walked up to a nice restaurant to enjoy a very nice meal together.

Our Shallowford Chapel Choir sang with golden voices today marked by several in the audience rising to applaud or wipe tears as they listened to each song. One remarked that many professional choirs don’t sing with that kind of passion and enjoyment!

We leave Scotland with reflections and memories and we are filled with gratitude.  We are grateful for the saints that have formed our Presbyterianism, for those who have preserved nature and sacred spaces, and we are especially grateful for those who love and support us such that we could embark on such an adventure as Scotland Chapel Choir Tour 2106.

And so we hope you enjoy these last pictures and videos (not to worry, we have many more to share) and know you are first in our hearts.

Wonderful! They’re all wonderful singers. I hope you folks all had fun singing out there in front of a crowd. Singing with passion and enjoyment in your hearts is so much better than singing just because you were told to. Your heart isn’t there if you force yourself to like singing. Anyway, I hope you guys get to perform more and don’t forget your passion for singing. Keep up all of the good work you’ve been doing! I believe in you.
