We’ve had a great couple of days at Dollywood and Chimney Rock.  The kids loved their home stays at First Presbyterian Lexington and all made it back in time to get on the road to Dollywood.  The weather cooperated and we had a fun day filled with roller coasters, country music and funnel cakes.   Some of us felt a little out of place at Dollywood (my favorite gift store item was the bubble bath bottle filled with beans that said “Make Your Own Bubbles”), but we all enjoyed the day of fellowship.
Thursday brought a drive to Chimney Rock through some mountain roads so thank goodness for Kate and Dramamine! Isaac was excited to celebrate his birthday with 77 of his closest friends--shout out to him for being a trooper! Many of the kids (and again, a few chaperones) scaled the summit for an amazing view before the thunder and lightning hastened our trip down. Check out our sibling pictures below!  We made it into Asheville for a wonderful Mexican dinner provided by our gracious hosts and changed for our concert (good thing we packed deodorant in those carry-on bags)!  We have been truly blessed with amazing venues and last night was no exception.  The kids got the longest standing ovation we have had on tour and we had lots of friendly faces in the audience.

We can’t wait to get home to our families and Shallowford!  Be sure to join us tonight at 7 pm in the sanctuary for our homecoming concert!

Obviously, the kids had fun at their tour in Dollywood and Chimney Rock! This is a good thing because they've been singing all throughout. This is just a perfect gateway to remind them that there's still room for enjoyment and be themselves once in a while. Thank you for sharing all these photos! I am happy to see their smiles because the smiles signify that they had fun. Too bad because the tour was over and there is a need to go back to reality!
